Flashes of Time

In a unique collaboration, the Kvalitář and Artefin galleries, together with Carollinum (Kingdom of Watches), will present an exhibition exploring the themes of time, art and craftsmanship through watches. The FLASHES OF TIME exhibition brings together eleven premium artists, represented by both galleries, who have curated a selection of works reflecting the theme of the passage of time.

This physical quantity has determined our reality since the universe was created 13.8 billion years ago. Since prehistoric times, the measurement of time has formed the basis of culture and civilisation. Clocks are universally accepted as the tool for this purpose. When their form, craftsmanship and high-end design are perfected, they can become jewellery, art and cultural icons.

At the same time, the passage of time is absolutely essential for all the exhibiting artists, whether as a theme of their artistic reflection or as a principle corresponding to the processuality of their work. This dimension of temporality is also mirrored in MAMBO RITUAL, performed by Patrícia Krausová, a choreography born from the vision of Italian musician, dancer and artist maestro Angelo Rito. The performance becomes a journey where rhythm awakens the body and music takes flight in motion. It intertwines the elegance of jazz, the liberation of modern dance, the fiery passion of salsa, the refinement of ballet and the primal heartbeat of Afro-Cuban rhythms. At its essence, it is a ritual of expression—where every movement becomes a brushstroke painting the music and every gesture speaks the language of sound. Within the context of the exhibition, this performance underscores the fluidity of time: sensed, embodied, and momentarily captured before it slips forward once again.
