Jana Bernartová

Jana Bernartová (*1983), a graduate of the Faculty of Art and Architecture at the Technical University of Liberec, where she studied in the Visual Communication - Digital Media Studio of Stanislav Zippe from 2003-2007 and where she now also teaches. During her studies she also passed through the Studio of Photography and Intermedia Overlaps of Ľub Stach at the Academy of Fine Arts in Bratislava (2006-2007) and the Studio of Intermedia of Václav Stratil at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the Brno University of Technology (2007-2009). She successfully completed her doctoral studies at the Federico Díaz Supermedia Studio at the Academy of Arts and Crafts in Prague (2010-2013). She lives and works in Prague and Liberec. Her work explores the relationship between the virtuality of digital space and its material permeation into the object world. In doing so, he observes the principles and possibilities of presetting and standardization and their possible failures. Through her visually artistic intermedia works, she comments on the state of the contemporary (art) world. She has been exhibiting solo since 2007; her last solo exhibition was curated by Tereza Jindrová at the Plusmínusnula Gallery in Žilina (Liquid Crystals R0G0B255, 2017).
