Jan Poupě
During his time, Jan Poupě (*1988) has developed a distinctive artistic language based on the exploration of structures and the search for the limits of perspective, optics and geometry in general. Poupě's works are based on the foundations of observation of natural phenomena, craftsmanship, and most importantly, a sophisticated crossing of the traditional boundaries of painting. On a general level, Jan Poupě has devoted himself to two basic artistic disciplines: oil painting, in which he has developed a unique painterly expression, and site-specific installations reflecting his observations of physical processes. He is a laureate of the 7th annual Critics Awards for Young Painters (2014).
